We're Going to China!

Andy woke the children with the Chinese National Anthem blaring from his i-pod at 3:30 this morning. We are officially on our way! Six people and six bags are safely through security and now we have a peaceful moment before we get on the plane. First stop is San Fransisco and then on to Beijing.

We have had a roller coaster of emotions as we've prepared for this trip. Fear, excitement, joy, anxiety, and exhaustion have all hit us at various times. A couple of us (who shall remain nameless) have had at least one "five hankie meltdown." which is our term for a serious ugly cry. We have sensed God's presence and faithfulness, but we have also been aware that "our battle is not against flesh and blood." Small things begin to seem huge and it is easy to take our focus off of the One who has planned this whole adventure from the beginning. We are trying to remind one another of the things we know to be true: that God is good. That He is at work. That He is bringing our boys home. That He is working all things together  for our good and His glory.

Two little boys have only five more nights to go to bed as orphans. Hang on little guys...we're on our way!
